Cultural Identities

About Fabiola Saucedo, LCSW

If you’ve always been the strong one…

The one who kept things together, didn’t speak up, or felt responsible for not adding more stress to your family—you might feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself now.

Maybe you overthink everything.
Maybe setting boundaries brings up guilt.
Maybe a part of you is tired of carrying so much… but you don’t know how to stop.

You don’t have to keep doing it alone.

I’m a Latina therapist and child of immigrants, and I work with individuals who are navigating anxiety, trauma, family pressure, and identity—especially those who grew up learning to be strong, selfless, or “the easy child.”

Many of my clients come in feeling:

  • emotionally overwhelmed or worried they’re “too much”
  • stuck in overthinking or self-doubt
  • disconnected from their needs
  • weighed down by family expectations or cultural pressure
  • carrying guilt when they try to choose themselves

What therapy with me feels like

Starting therapy can feel like a big step—especially if you’re used to handling things on your own.

My approach is relaxed, collaborative, and at your pace.

Together, we’ll explore where these patterns come from and help you build a different relationship with yourself.

We might:

  • get curious about different “parts” of you (like the part that pushes you vs. the part that feels exhausted)
  • slow things down so your body can feel safer, not just your thoughts
  • work through old beliefs around responsibility, guilt, and worth
  • practice setting boundaries in a way that actually feels doable

Over time, many clients start to:

  • feel less anxious and more grounded
  • trust themselves more
  • set boundaries with less guilt
  • feel more connected to who they are—not just who they’ve had to be
