Many Latinx and first-generation folks grow up being the one who holds everything together. You learn to put family first, take on responsibility early, and keep pushing through—even when it’s exhausting. Over time, that emotional weight can start to affect how you feel, your relationships, and your sense of self.
If setting boundaries feels uncomfortable, family expectations pull at you, or guilt shows up when you choose yourself, you’re not alone. These patterns are often tied to intergenerational experiences, migration stress, and cultural messages around loyalty and sacrifice. Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to choose between honoring your culture and honoring yourself—just a space to slow down, reflect, and find more balance.
My approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space for folks navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma, using tools like IFS, somatic therapy, and mindfulness—always tailored to you.

Muchas personas Latinx y de primera generación crecen siendo quienes sostienen todo. Desde temprano aprenden a poner a la familia primero, asumir mucha responsabilidad y seguir adelante, incluso cuando están agotadas. Con el tiempo, ese peso emocional puede empezar a afectar cómo te sientes, tus relaciones y tu conexión contigo misma/o.
Si poner límites se siente incómodo, las expectativas familiares te jalan, o aparece la culpa cuando eliges cuidarte, no estás sola/o. Estos patrones suelen estar ligados a experiencias intergeneracionales, el estrés de la migración y mensajes culturales sobre lealtad y sacrificio. La terapia puede ser un espacio donde no tengas que elegir entre honrar tu cultura y honrarte a ti—un lugar para ir más despacio, reflexionar y encontrar más equilibrio.
