Supervisor Information:
Alex Ngo, LCSW
Welcome, my name is Erika! My work has focused on providing culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, and affirming therapeutic services to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folks experiencing anxiety, depression, generational trauma, immigrant struggles, and race/ethnic identity exploration. I draw from a trauma-informed lens that explores childhood experiences, relational attachments, cultural environments, and how the brain is developmentally affected through traumatic experiences. I integrate mindful and somatic activities, such as art, movement, and mindfulness into our sessions to help you reconnect with your mind, emotions, and body. I support folks who struggle finding balance and belonging in multiple cultures. We can work together in your self-discovery journey as we explore how your identities and cultures can be a source of strength, reconnection, and celebration. We may explore shame, 1st generation struggles, spirituality, and other elements of culture that are important to you. I understand that healing is a nonlinear process and sometimes we are faced with resistance and fear. I will honor your experience and allow you to sit with the uncomfortable feelings for as long as it feels necessary for you. What is most important in our work together is that you feel seen, validated, and supported as you embark on this powerful journey.
