Taking this first step toward therapy demonstrates courage and a commitment to your own growth. I understand that facing feelings of grief, rage, uncertainty, vulnerability, and safety can be overwhelming. I am committed to developing an authentic and collaborative partnership with you that honors your dignity and centers your care.
As an AfroDominicana born and raised in NYC to immigrant parents, I bring nuance to my work with clients regarding the many complexities connected with Latinx/Latiné identities. I integrate social justice and trauma-informed practices to support folx in their reflection and meet them where they are with grace, dignity, and care. When helpful, I also integrate mindfulness and somatic practices to support self-regulation, self-awareness, and self-resourcing throughout our work.
Together, we’ll consider how your intersecting identities inform your lived experiences while working and living in systems and conditions that often perpetuate ongoing harm. This may often include exploring intergenerational trauma within the context of ancestral and colonial lineages, in addition to ancestral wisdom that may be alive for you to support your own resilience. My lived experiences as a social worker, mother, law school graduate, and university professor inform my worldview and clinical approach.
I welcome feedback, joy, and celebrations of accomplishments as part of the therapeutic process. I work with all levels of Spanish fluency and capacity, including non-Spanish speakers. Reach out to schedule a Free 15-minute Video Consultation to see if we might be the right fit!
