About Eliana Gomez Rodriguez, APC

I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with experience supporting individuals navigating trauma, addiction, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, grief, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, and suicidal ideation. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults (of all ages) from diverse cultural backgrounds, including individuals from Egypt, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Germany, India, Nicaragua, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Jamaica, as well as members of marginalized communities such as African American, Hispanic, and LGBTQ+ populations.

A central focus of my work is helping clients cultivate healthy, meaningful connections with others, as research consistently demonstrates the healing power of supportive relationships. I support clients in learning to advocate for themselves, address unresolved conflict, and establish healthy boundaries. I strongly believe that mental health is achieved through a holistic approach—one that includes a sense of purpose, mind–body nourishment, quality time with loved ones, connection with nature, physical activity, and the practice of mindfulness, gratitude, and forgiveness.

I integrate existential, humanistic, and CBT approaches, using the power of the present moment to explore experiences across the lifespan. By helping you identify and build upon your innate strengths, I aim to equip you with the tools needed to navigate challenging situations, thought patterns, and behaviors. I value a collaborative therapeutic relationship and strive to foster agency, courage, perseverance, resilience, and self-compassion—guiding you to recognize that, regardless of past experiences, you have the capacity to shape the life you desire by unlearning ingrained helplessness and embracing your ability to thrive and flourish.

Drawing from my Colombian heritage and my commitment to holistic healing, I am passionate about incorporating dance therapy, laughter therapy, and pet therapy to support emotional expression and stress reduction. I also enjoy using structured role-play scenarios to help clients build self-confidence and develop practical skills and resilience for life’s challenges. I am happy to provide therapy in both English and Spanish.

Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, sharing laughter and meaningful conversations, being immersed in nature and wildlife, dancing, reading, running, biking, and traveling.

I earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University. I completed my graduate internship at Mercer University Counseling and Psychological Services and my undergraduate internship at Skelley House, a halfway house in Phoenix, Arizona. During my training, I became certified in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) to support individuals experiencing suicidal ideation and in Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) through NET Collect for the treatment of PTSD. I also completed coursework in traumatology, which emphasized the profound impact of untreated trauma on both mental and physical health.

I am deeply committed to ongoing learning and professional growth in order to provide the highest quality care to my clients.

I look forward to working with you.

Eliana Gomez Rodriguez, APC
