About Eduardo Ildefonso, MHC-LP

Welcome ALL!

I’m Eduardo, a pre-licensed mental health counselor (MHC-LP) at Peaceful Psychotherapy. As a a gay first-generation Dominican American from the Bronx, NY, my inter-sectional identities help me better comprehend the therapeutic work.  I understand firsthand the complexities of navigating culture, identity, and belonging while confronting systemic barriers and the lack of accessible, affirming care for marginalized communities.

I strive to create a safe, affirming, and collaborative space where clients can show up authentically and feel truly seen. As an anti-oppressive and inclusive therapist, I approach each person with humility and curiosity, acknowledging how power, privilege, and oppression shape our lived experiences and emotional worlds. My commitment is to honor your story while helping you reclaim agency, self-compassion, and a sense of empowerment.

My approach is integrative, drawing from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and person-centered frameworks. Sessions often weave together insight-oriented exploration, mindfulness, and skills-based interventions to help you understand patterns, strengthen coping strategies, and foster lasting growth.

Clients often describe my style as warm, attuned, and gently challenging. I believe healing unfolds through trust, empathy, and authentic connection. Together, we’ll explore the intersection of your experiences, emotions, and values—creating a space where you can feel grounded, empowered, and aligned with your most authentic self.
