About Dr. Sophia Aguirre, Ph.D, CGP, Psychologist

Hola!  I am Dr. Sophia Aguirre and I am a psychologist,  a mother, a wife, a business owner, and a proud first-generation college & graduate student.  I am also the founder of the Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy—a space designed to provide culturally-sensitive, socially-conscious therapy & counseling for adults looking to thrive.

As a proud Chicana/Latina and daughter of Mexican immigrant parents, I understand the unique challenges Latinx individuals face while navigating life in a society shaped by systemic oppression. I’m especially passionate about supporting the Latinx community and helping people build deeper, more authentic connections with themselves and those around them.

With over 15 years of experience, I have worked with a wide range of concerns, from relational and identity issues to trauma and systemic oppression.  My practice is LGBT-affirming, Weight-Inclusive, Trauma-Informed, and Poly-Aware and Kink-Knowledgeable.

My goal is always to create a safe, inclusive space where clients feel empowered to explore their unique experiences and heal in ways that honor their full selves. I would describe my approach as warm, genuine, and thoughtfully analytical. My style tends to be informal, direct, and transparent, with the intention of demystifying the therapy process. I strive to build a trusting, nonjudgmental atmosphere, fostering a therapeutic relationship that balances both support and challenge.

Whether you’re seeking healing, clarity, or connection, I’m here to walk alongside you on this journey. Let’s create the life you deserve.

PLEASE NOTE:  I am an Out-of-Network provider health insurance companies and I do not bill insurance companies. What this means is that you would have to pay for your sessions upfront (with a debit 0r credit card), and I will provide you with a detailed receipt (called a superbill) of our services that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.  I also do not work with any EAP (Employee Assistance Programs). You can find out more about this process on my website: www.inclusivepsych.com
