Taking the first step toward therapy can be hard, and I want to honor the courage it takes to be here. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship stress, life transitions, grief, maternal health issues, or suicidal thoughts—you don’t have to face it alone.
Hola, I’m Dr. Charmaine Mora-Ozuna (She/Her/Ella), a bilingual and bicultural psychologist proudly de raíces Mexicanas. I work with adults across the lifespan, many of whom are navigating deep emotional pain or the weight of responsibilities that others may not fully understand.
I specialize in empowering women to heal from trauma— whether it comes from childhood experiences, family patterns passed down through generations, domestic violence, or the quieter struggles we often carry in silence. I don’t believe que calladita te ves más bonita, and I’m passionate about helping you reclaim your voice, your story, and the sense of power that may have been taken from you. I also connect deeply with high-achieving and first-generation individuals balancing professional goals, family expectations, and the desire to honor their cultural identity without losing themselves in the process.
In therapy, I center culture, authenticity, and joy as essential tools for healing. Many of us grow up learning to be strong, self-sacrificing, or to push through struggles without asking for help. But true strength includes vulnerability, connection, and giving yourself permission to rest and receive care. You deserve that!
My therapeutic approach is grounded in Liberation Psychology and a Mujerista framework, which means I see healing as both personal and collective. I don’t view your challenges as personal failures but as experiences shaped by family, culture, social inequalities, and the demands of living in a world that often feels “on fire.” A Mujerista perspective also honors the strength and wisdom of women, recognizing how our cultural experiences shape the ways we cope and heal. Together, we’ll look at what’s happening inside you and how your life circumstances, culture, and environment may be affecting your well-being. This approach can feel especially validating for people whose experiences haven’t always been fully recognized or understood in traditional therapy settings.
I welcome people from diverse identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences. Whether you’re navigating a major life transition, processing grief, healing from harmful relationships, or seeking a space where you can simply exhale, I strive to create a therapeutic relationship built on respect, compassion, and trust. In our work, you are not expected to leave parts of yourself at the door. I invite you to bring your full self into the room—your language, your culture, your humor, your strength, and even the pieces you’re still figuring out.
Ultimately, my goal is to help you reconnect with your inner wisdom, reclaim your voice, and cultivate a life filled with meaning, connection, and joy. Healing is not just about reducing symptoms; it’s about expanding your capacity to live freely and authentically.
If you’re ready to begin, or even just curious about what therapy might look like for you, I’m here to support you. You deserve care that honors your story and creates space for your healing.
