Are you wondering if counseling is right for you?

We all experience stress, whether it is at home or our professional lives. Sometimes these stressful situations have us feeling more nervous, sad, on edge or angrier than usual. We may even notice that we are having a hard time focusing and enjoying things that we used to. Are you recently experiencing life changes such as a divorce, new/changes in career? Have you recently become a new parent? Have you experienced any loss and/or grief? Did you recently experience a very stressful or traumatic event? If this message is resonating with you, please know you are not alone and I would enjoy the privilege of being a part of your healing journey.

My name is Daniela Barrera-Barajas and I am a bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW 117730), providing counseling/therapy in California. I have 9 years of experience working with adults, children, adolescents and families utilizing evidence-based practices to support people manage anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, grief and loss etc,. I gained the majority of my experience in community mental health which has given me the privilege of working with individuals at-risk facing adversities.

I was born in Southern California and moved to the Bay Area from age 5-18. I returned to Southern California to complete my B.S in Criminal Justice Administration at CSU Dominguez Hills. I then relocated to Northern California to continue to gain experience in the behavioral health field and complete my Master’s of Social Work at Sacramento State University. I received my master level training from the UC Davis Children’s Hospital, Child and Adolescent Abuse Resource and Evaluation (CAARE) Diagnostic and Treatment Center. At CAARE I had the opportunity to provide therapeutic services to individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, victims of crime and system involved youth (CPS and Juvenile Justice).

I identify as a first generation Latina, full-time working mom. Like many of you I wear many hats, both professionally and personally, which has helped me understand many of the challenges my clients have or are experiencing. Overall, I am passionate about supporting people through their healing journey and I am excited about working with you and/or your family getting to a place of peace.
