About Cynthia Alonzo Perez, LCSW

My name is Cynthia Alonzo Perez. I am a first gen xicana social worker, clinical educator, inner child therapist and host of Confetti All Around Podcast.

I have difficulty calling myself a “therapist” these days because after 14 years in this field I have blossomed more into my ancestral indigenous practice and developed rituals for my inner child that I share with clients and anyone who is passionate about this work, too.   In finding my inner child joy I found my wise inner ancestor. Using indigenous ways of “polyvagaL’ toning and bilateral stimulation, I also provide data on the neuroscience and energy body healing to provide a whole systems approach to being witnessed. I host private sessions on the land with the trees and animals as a co-regulator. We may use the hammocks or sound healing and oracle reflections. We may go for a walk around the lake and hum and dance to release tension. If you are a first gen oldest sibling and this sounds “cringy” to you because softening feels terrifying or forgotten, I am available to hold space with you in patience as you soften to yourself through your inner child’s love.   If you are the forgotten middle child finding yourself constantly putting everyone first and fawning or people pleasing so much you feel resentful…. same! Let’s name it and release, together!   Ig you are the youngest child of immigrants or you’re family’s been here and you feel disconnected from your culture though it’s all around you, this is what I love to be in community with you about. This is such an important part of your life and identity. So let’s get to the root and go from there. I ain’t scared and I only think about unburdening your inner child.   I specialize in first gen, immigrant and Latino/Afro Caribbean/Filipino Diaspora ancestral healing with a focus on decolonization, indigenous identity, epigenetics, nervous system repair, intergenenerational trauma, ancestral attachment trauma, sacred rage and grief, Marianismo, Machismo and gender wounds in families, relationships and the colonized self. I am the founder of Rooted in Reflection. I believe in creating compassionate spaces where you can reconnect with your true self. Our guided healing programs blend psychosocial science, epigenetics, and indigenous practices to offer you a transformative journey towards inner peace and self-discovery. As a first-generation Licensed Clinical Therapist and storyteller, I’ve spent my career dedicated to healing intergenerational trauma through inner child work. Rooted in Reflection is more than just a mental health wellness organization; it’s a community where we honor joy, creativity, and cultural heritage.
