About Crystal Ortiz, LSW at Chicago Counseling Services

Hola! Gusto en conocerle! I am a proud Mexican-American therapist and can provide services in both English and Spanish. I pride myself on being a compassionate, empathic, creative, and trauma-informed therapist who is committed to seeing clients as the experts of their stories. My approach is grounded in person-centered and humanistic modalities, as I firmly believe that individuals should have control over their treatments. I also tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet the needs of each client, utilizing skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy, and more. My training and experience come from working with youth and families from Chicago’s underserved communities, and as such I approach my work through a trauma-informed lens. I am also a proud Chicagoan, being born and raised in the city, and I am so blessed to continue serving my community members. I obtained my Master of Arts degree in Social Work (Clinical Concentration) from the University of Chicago, and received graduate certificates in Trauma-Informed Care. My specialties include helping clients work through anxiety, and depression, processing trauma, adjusting to life’s changes, racial identity, frustration tolerance, and more. I see individual teens/adolescents, and adults. (773) 345-8330 x37
