About Claudette Mestayer, LCSW

I am a firm believer in the healing power of therapy. As a clinical social worker, my goals are to provide empathetic care, to meet you where you are on your life journey, and to support you in accomplishing your goals and moving forward. I approach my work with humor, curiosity and compassion, and view the therapeutic process as a collaboration. As we’re getting to know each other, we’ll chat about what motivates you, your values and goals. We’ll also explore the context of the people and experiences that shape who you are. My work draws on a variety of tools, such as mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy that will help you gain the skills, insight and support needed to move forward in your life. Don’t worry if you have never been to therapy and this is new to you! I really enjoy working with newbies and will guide you in this process. Although I work with a wide range of issues and concerns, I have a special interest in working with women who are struggling with substance abuse or are healing from trauma. Many of my clients are immigrants, and I am particularly interested in working with people from marginalized or underserved groups particularly BIPOC and the LGBTQ+ community. As a professional woman of color myself, I am deeply committed to disrupting intergenerational trauma and the systems of oppression that impact our day-to-day lives. I offer therapy in English and Spanish according to your preference. I feel incredibly honored to do this work and look forward to partnering with you in your journey towards healing and empowerment.
