I’ve always known I wanted to be in the counseling field, but my path became clearer when I recognized the gap in providers of color and Spanish-speaking clinicians. I saw how often Latino/a individuals and families were navigating anxiety, trauma, generational expectations, and identity shifts without access to care that truly understood the cultural layers involved. I knew I wanted to be part of changing that.
I am a relational, trauma-informed therapist who works with adults navigating identity, relationships, ADHD, and the complexity of healing while parenting. Much of my work centers around understanding patterns, especially the ones rooted in family systems, culture, attachment, and early experiences. Many of my clients are high-functioning, responsible, and deeply caring people who quietly carry overwhelm. Por fuera, parecen que lo tienen todo bajo control. Por dentro, se sienten cansados, desconectados, o atrapados en patrones que no entienden completamente.
As a Latina therapist, I understand that mental health does not exist outside of culture. We do not heal in a vacuum. Our upbringing, language, immigration stories, generational trauma, faith, and family roles all shape how we see ourselves and how safe it feels to set boundaries, express needs, or even ask for help. Sometimes we were raised with “sé fuerte,” “no llores,” or “la familia es todo.” Messages that were meant to protect us can also make emotional vulnerability feel unsafe. Culturally responsive care is not an add-on in my practice. It is foundational.
I offer therapy in English, Español, and Spanglish because sometimes the right word only exists in one language. Sometimes we process in English and then something deeper comes out in Spanish. You do not have to translate yourself in my office. You do not have to explain the nuance of respeto, personalismo, or the pressure of being the first. I understand the in-between space many of us live in, ni de aquí, ni de allá, and how that can shape identity and belonging.
I also work closely with adults navigating ADHD and neurodivergence. Many of my clients were never diagnosed as children and grew up believing they were lazy, dramatic, or “too much.” We explore how their nervous system works, how focus and emotion regulation impact relationships, and how to build systems that support their brain rather than shame it.
If you are healing while parenting, you may notice old wounds resurfacing in ways you did not expect. Becoming a parent often brings unresolved childhood dynamics to the surface. I support mothers and fathers who want to break generational patterns without losing connection to their roots. This work is nuanced. It is not about rejecting culture. It is about integrating it in a way that feels healthy, conscious, and aligned.
Therapy with me is collaborative. I believe you know yourself better than anyone else. Tú eres el experto en tu propia vida. You bring your lived experience, insight, and willingness to grow. I bring clinical knowledge, structure, and perspective. Together, we slow things down enough to understand what is happening beneath the surface. We look at patterns without judgment and build change that feels embodied and sustainable.
My tone in session is warm but direct. I will not pathologize your culture or dismiss the importance of family. I also will not avoid the hard conversations. Therapy with me is a space where you do not have to shrink, code-switch, or minimize parts of yourself to be understood.
If you are looking for a therapist who understands the intersection of trauma, culture, ADHD, and relational dynamics, and who believes that culturally responsive care is essential to meaningful healing, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
