Cultural Identities

About Carolina Cormack Orellana, LCSW

Want to work with a decolonial therapist? Navigating complex emotions, identities, and relationships in a world on fire isn’t easy. I know from experience that the last thing you need when you’re crashing out is the added burden of having to “educate your therapist” on your identities or cultural values.

My work centers LGBTQ+ folx, first-gen Latine adult children of immigrants, and anyone exploring the intersections of culture, identity, and mental health. I draw from evidence-based clinical practices and lived experience as a queer first-gen eldest daughter of Chilean and Argentinean immigrants.

My approach blends practices like Internal Family Systems/Parts Work, Mindfulness, and elements of CBT and DBT with cultural humility and the belief that healing is a relational, not hierarchical, process. I want you to feel like you can take a breath and be authentic during our sessions and that involves me being curious and earning your trust.

I also have specialized training in and offer Ketamine Assisted Therapy through Journey Clinical. If you’re still reading, we might be a good fit- click on the link under “Website” to fill out my contact form and we can schedule a free 15 minute call to talk specifics and check the vibe. I hope to hear from you soon!
