Cultural Identities

About Carmen Reyes McCloskey, AMFT, M.S., M.A

Whether you’re navigating family conflict, anxiety, childhood trauma, grief, or relational pain that keeps resurfacing, you deserve a therapist who gets it—someone who understands the cultural weight we carry, the family expectations, and the parts of our story that don’t always translate.

You’re not looking for quick fixes. You want depth, genuine connection, and a space where all of you is welcome—including the parts that have been silenced, unseen, or overwhelmed.

I bring lived experience to this work.

As a Mexican American therapist who speaks Spanish, I come from a lineage of migrant families. I haven’t just studied trauma—I’ve walked through it. I know firsthand the pain of family wounds, the complexity of mother-daughter relationships, the grief that comes with losing what we thought family should be, and the weight of being Brown in the current climate. This lived experience informs how I show up for you: with compassion, without judgment, and with deep understanding of what it takes to heal.

I specialize in depth therapy, integrating EMDR, DBT, inner child work, mother wounds (heridas maternales), anxiety, grief, and the complex impact of divorce and relational loss. I also welcome dream exploration  as a sacred path to inner wisdom—honoring the ways our ancestors and intuition speak to us.

This is a soulful space where you’re fully honored—your language, your family dynamics, your migration story, and your dreams.

Hoy es el día. Today is the day.
