Cultural Identities

About Cycles End With Me Therapy - Candice Aparicio, LCSW

A California native, from LA to The Bay, I landed in NYC in 2015 to pursue my Master’s in Social Work and have been there since. As a first-generation college graduate from a family of immigrants, I knew I wanted to support others who were also breaking cycles so that everyone knew that they were not alone. This became my mission.

I prioritize supporting self-identified cycle-breakers, as they are the first ones in their families to seek healing and break the cycles of harm.

Many Westernized approaches to therapy would not encourage me to share about myself and what my values are. They would encourage you to know little to nothing about me. This has never sat well with me. I co-create an environment where my presence is very much a part of the space, along with yours. I believe this is a shared experience.

As a holistic therapist, licensed to practice therapy in New York (#094913), I am dedicated to supporting individuals in their healing journey. I believe everyone deserves a secure and empowering space to explore their lived experiences and change the narrative.

My approach to therapy is relational, trauma-informed, and liberation-centered, focusing on connection to your body, your ancestors, and your unique cultural identity. I draw on modalities like Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Therapy, and EMDR through an integrative approach to help you heal from complex trauma, gender-based violence, and other challenges.

My work is particularly focused on being alongside with Black, Indigenous, People of Color, 2SLGBTQIA+, and communities that have been impacted by the oppressive systems in place. I understand the unique challenges faced and strive to create a space where you are heard, seen, and understood.

My practice is rooted in social justice and decolonial values, empowering you to reclaim your power and challenge any narrative that focuses on blaming the individual instead of the system. My gentle approach creates a sense of belonging and through collaboration, it allows you to explore your experiences and see your strengths. I’m dedicated to providing culturally-sensitive and trauma-informed care that honors your identity and supports your healing.
