About

Hola, soy Bricia. I am a bilingual /bicultural Latina therapist, daughter of immigrants, and new mom. I grew up in both Los Angeles and Mexico. My personal experience grieving the loss of important father figures has led me to focus on grief and loss in the Latine community.

My purpose here is to support Latine adults, seeking support with grief and loss while navigating important life transitions. These include:

-Motherhood

-Immigration

-Academia (including First GEN college students)

During our time together, we will focus on transforming your relationship grief. This includes:

  • Identifying and processing emotions such as anger, sadness, shock, denial, and acceptance.
  • Navigating holidays and anniversaries that activate grief.
Challenging societal, cultural, & familial misconceptions about grief that may not align with your beliefs.
  • Creating trust about your grieving process by incorporating  traditions, rituals, and practices that provide stability.
  • Assigning purpose and meaning to your loss.

When I’m not meeting with clients, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I absolutely love animals. My hobbies include listening to music and audio books. Rom-coms and thrillers are my fav!

I earned my Bachelor’s in Sociology and Spanish at UCSB, in 2009 and my Master’s in Social Work, in 2017, from CSULA. I welcome you to share your journey with me.
