Welcome! My name is Astrid. I am a Mexican cisgender woman passionate about creating a space that fosters vulnerability, safety, community, and love. I graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s in Psychology and Criminal Justice, shortly after, received my Master’s in Social Work. As a former community organizer, I understand the impacts of oppressive systems and the value in community to resist against those systems. Therefore, in my work, I focus and center safety, empowerment, compassion, and community.
Throughout my professional and personal life, I have gained experience working closely with trauma to understand the impacts and ways to heal. In my previous work, I provided bi-lingual therapy to sex trafficking and domestic violence survivors utilizing an empowerment approach through a trauma-informed lens. As I moved forward with my career, I was presented with the opportunity to work with individuals and couples experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and large life transitions. I utilize interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Parts Work, Mindfulness-Based Interventions and the Gottman Method to help my clients reach their therapy goals. In individual therapy, I will facilitate a space where you feel comfortable to explore your authentic self, as it is important to me you feel affirmed, seen, heard, and understood. In couple’s therapy, I will function as a supporting role in your relationship by providing the space and tools to address issues that may be preventing a healthy and thriving relationship such as communication, intimacy, and trust. By building our therapeutic relationship, I will be there to support you and help promote change to create a life fulfilling to you.
During my freetime, I love spending my time with my family, weight lifting, listening to music, and pouring into my interests such as gardening and fashion. As well, I am a proud dog mom to my pitbull Apollo and english bulldog Louie. If you feel this may be a good fit, you can email or book through our site to schedule a free ten-minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!

Bienvenidos!
Astrid Pizarro
