Hola, I’m Ary.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker dedicated to helping my Latinx community shed the stigma of asking for help with our mental health. Growing up in a traditional Mexican family, I was told I was fine when I really wasn’t. I had to learn that my struggles with PTSD and postpartum depression were not my personal failing, but the natural result of being conditioned to stay quiet when things were wrong. Staying calladita almost killed me.
I draw not only from professional training but also from lived experience. As a formerly undocumented immigrant, I know what it’s like to be afraid and uncertain. These personal experiences led me to a career in helping others. I’ve been supporting women through all their stages of life for over twenty years. I’d love to see how I can support you, too.
I specialize in helping women reconnect with themselves, especially during the major transitions of motherhood. Whether you’re a new mom feeling lost in the shuffle, or someone carrying the heavy weight of past trauma—be it from childhood or more recent events—I’m here to help you sort through the noise and find clarity about what truly matters.
I strive to make therapy a place where you can be yourself: a person full of contradictions and potential. After all, isn’t therapy an opportunity to figure yourself out? I work with you to assess what you need. You’re in charge of your healing, I’m just one of your guides!
Our sessions will set the stage for you to approach what’s bothering you. I offer gentle guidance, humor, and sometimes call you out on what you’ve been avoiding. And, if you’re struggling with painful or sad experiences, I use EMDR and inner-child healing interventions to support you on your path feeling better.
Clients have told me that they feel calmer and more confident because of our work together. Others have said they feel less sad and anxious, more present and ready to experience their life without the ongoing shadow of trauma, worry, and depression following them. My hope for you is that you will also gain something similar.
If you’re ready to get started on moving through this difficult period in your life, book a free consultation and we can discuss what’s right for you.
If you’re seeking to use your insurance benefits, I utilize a platform called Headway that has paneled me to accept the following insurances: Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Quest Behavioral Health.
I can also provide a superbill for your out of network benefits.
