About Ary Madera-Reber, LCSW, PMH-C, CCTP

¡Ponte las pilas! ¡Echale ganas! ¡No seas huevona!

If your parents and abuelos are anything like mine, you’ve heard these phrases your entire life. They love you and they want you to succeed, but sometimes you wish they understood that they don’t have to motivate you with criticism. It’s hard, isn’t it, to let your inner circle know that you need kindness, compassion, and softness? Especially when you’re going through major transitions. You wish you could stop feeling guilty about not being able to handle big milestones on your own, like having a baby, or going through a divorce. After all, the women in your family did, and they seem fine.

But are they? Now that you think about it, they seem kind of mad all the time. Or use guilt trips to communicate their love and cariño, and that doesn’t feel good. Our culture seems to expect us and the women before us to keep pushing through, to keep hustling, no matter what. You may be surrounded by family and friends, but because no one ever showed you how to ask for help, you feel isolated and alone. Even if your mom visits you all the time.

You’re a capable woman that feels like she’s reaching her breaking point. You have so many responsibilities but the mental fog, the physical exhaustion, the racing thoughts, and the overwhelm make it so difficult for you to think clearly and function like you used to. You could use a helping hand.

Did you know that it doesn’t make you weak to recognize that you can’t keep pushing yourself and keep quiet about how you’re doing? Your inner wisdom is telling you need something else. I’m good at helping mujeres like you to take a step back, slow down, and figure out what you’re missing and needing.

If you’re trying to figure out how to feel better but don’t know where to start, book your free 15 minute consultation with me, Ary.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with lived experience as an undocumented child immigrant; I’m a survivor of traumatic birth and postpartum depression; I’m an eldest daughter. I’m certified in perinatal mental health, which means I know how to help expecting and new parents that are dealing with postpartum depression, anxiety, and trauma. I am formally trained in a number of cool-sounding therapies (like EMDR, Somatic Attachment, Ego State) that I use to help you clear away old beliefs, thoughts, and memories. I’ll work with you to make space for new ways to love and take care of yourself.

You can make your family proud and craft a life that centers you, too. Reach out for your free 15 minute consultation. I offer video sessions to people located in the state of California.

Nos vemos pronto!
