Cultural Identities

About Aroosha L Sanchez

I’m a bilingual Latina therapist offering culturally attuned, trauma-informed care to individuals and families across California. My work is grounded in warmth and respect for how family expectations, migration stories, and lived experiences shape the way we carry pain, resilience, and hope. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand, or carrying emotional burdens they’ve had to manage alone for far too long. My goal is to create a space where you feel truly seen, safe, and understood without having to explain or justify your cultural reality.

I specialize in working with trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, relationship wounds, and the lasting effects of childhood experiences. I am trained in EMDR and integrate somatic, attachment-based, and depth-oriented approaches that go beyond surface-level coping skills. Together, we explore not only what is happening now, but how your nervous system, early relationships, and life experiences shaped the patterns you’re living with today. Therapy with me is not about quick fixes or advice-giving. It is a collaborative process that honors your pace while helping you gently process and release what no longer serves you.

As a Latina, I am especially mindful of how generational trauma, immigration experiences, machismo, marianismo, religious upbringing, family loyalty, and unspoken expectations impact mental health. You may be the “strong one” in your family, the cycle-breaker, the first to seek therapy, or just someone trying to make sense of feeling disconnected from both your cultural roots and the world around you. These themes are welcome here. I provide therapy in English and Spanish and strive to hold a space where cultural identity is understood as central, not peripheral, to healing.

I work with adults and young parent-child pairs, through telehealth, creating a therapeutic environment that feels personal, warm, and engaged. With adults, I offer a reflective space to unpack long-standing patterns, relational struggles, and emotional overwhelm in a way that feels grounded and compassionate. With younger clients, I use interactive and developmentally appropriate methods to support attachment and bonding.

Reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you come from a background where mental health was not openly discussed. I honor the courage it takes to begin this work. Whether you are navigating trauma, grief, life transitions, parenting challenges, or simply feeling lost and disconnected, you do not have to do it alone. My role is to walk alongside you with compassion, cultural understanding, and clinical expertise as you move toward greater clarity, healing, and self-trust.
