About Araceli Vega, LCSW

Hi, I’m Araceli Vega (she/her/ella), a bilingual and bicultural Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing virtual therapy to adults throughout California. I work primarily with women, BIPOC individuals, first-generation adults, and members of the Latinx community who are carrying anxiety, trauma, grief, perfectionism, and major life transitions—often while appearing like they have everything “together” on the outside.

Many of the clients I work with are used to being the strong one in their families, relationships, or careers. They are dependable, self-aware, high-functioning, and deeply caring people who often put themselves last. On the surface, they may appear successful or emotionally composed, but internally they feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in patterns they can no longer ignore.

Some clients come to therapy after years of surviving in fight-or-flight mode. Others are navigating painful life transitions, grief, family dynamics, burnout, perfectionism, cultural pressures, or unresolved trauma that continues to impact their relationships, boundaries, self-esteem, and ability to feel present in their daily lives. Many are tired of overthinking, carrying emotional weight alone, or feeling like they always have to be “on.”

As a therapist, I strive to create a space where you do not have to shrink yourself, over-explain your experiences, or feel judged for your emotions. I understand the importance of cultural identity, family expectations, intergenerational experiences, and the complexity that can come with balancing different versions of yourself in different spaces.

My approach to therapy is relational, trauma-informed, collaborative, and transparent. I am not the type of therapist who simply nods through sessions without helping you challenge patterns or reflect more deeply. Clients who work well with me often appreciate honesty, direct communication, accountability, and transparency in the therapeutic relationship. I believe healing can involve compassion and gentleness while also making space for direct conversations that help you move forward.

I value authenticity in sessions and aim to show up as a real human being while still holding a safe and professional therapeutic space. Therapy with me is not about perfection; it is about increasing self-awareness, understanding your emotional experiences more clearly, strengthening your relationship with yourself, and learning how to move through life in a way that feels more aligned and sustainable.

Whether you are processing trauma, struggling with anxiety, grieving a loss, navigating a major life change, or trying to break free from perfectionism and self-pressure, therapy can become a space where you reconnect with yourself in a more honest and grounded way.

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you are someone who is used to carrying things alone. You do not have to have everything figured out before beginning. My goal is to provide a consistent and supportive space where healing, reflection, growth, and emotional clarity can happen at your pace.

If you are looking for a therapist who values transparency, cultural understanding, authenticity, and deeper emotional work, I would be honored to support you in your healing journey.
