About Angela Castellanos, LMFT

Hi! My name is Angela Castellanos and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I have 25 years of therapeutic experience treating trauma in children and adults. I am EMDR trained, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) certified, CBT trained, and psycho dynamic oriented. What does that mean? It means I can treat trauma from a somatic, cognitive, and neurological approach. I am the right fit for you if you want to address trauma, and understand the reasons behind your triggers and behaviors, while learning coping strategies using somatic and cognitive interventions. I incorporate exploring generational patterns, cultural norms, family traumas, and psycho education to help you further understand why certain behavioral patterns are harder to change than others. I use an empathetic and soft approach, but am also able to challenge negative patterns as needed. I specialize in treating victims of Domestic Violence and Narcissistic Abuse. I am a Domestic Violence advocate, which has assisted me in understanding the psychology behind this abuse, the intricacies of the impact of this behavior, and allowed me to treat many clients in an empathetic and personalized way. I am also currently accepting clients who want to treat anxiety, life stressors or changes, substance abuse issues, and ADHD/ADD.  At this time I am focused on supporting adolescents (14-18 y/o) and adults (18-55 y/o).  I am passionate about helping others overcome challenges in life, and find freedom from their past. Whether it’s a stressor that arises or an on going issue, I believe every client has the potential to thrive. It is an honor to do this work and be able to walk alongside my clients on their journey to healing and emotional balance. Using my experience and education I meet all of my clients where they are and help them navigate to where they want to be.
