Hola, me llamo Andrea, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I partner with others to witness their story and journey while they unearth and access the embodiment of their own healing. My practice centers the experiences of those who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, and hold within themselves the experience of being disconnected from their land, family, ancestors, story, or personal autonomy. In our reconnection work, I will invite you to journey to a new or revisited awareness of sensations–the language of our bodies. In this space you will learn how to track your nervous system and offer a greater sense of relief through some helpful skills that are accessible for all. Once your body has been supported in new ways, and only if or when you feel ready, we can gently journey together to past experiences that may have gotten stuck in the body and are ready to be fully metabolized through. Words can be very powerful, and sometimes as humans we can have a somatic experience where words don’t quite fit or do justice to the experience. In somatic work, we can honor the internal medicine that our ancestors have practiced for many years, the medicine that lives within our very DNA, while simultaneously connecting within the expression of our own unique selves. On a more short-term basis, I also provide psychological evaluations for those with immigration cases, including VAWA (Violence Against Women Act), Extreme Hardship, and Asylum.
