I'm part of the team at Balanced Awakening, providing psychotherapy to female-identified individuals.

Welcome! Thank you for being here and for showing up for yourself. I consider it a privilege to be able to take part in this journey with you, and I acknowledge the courage and strength that it takes to take this first step. Sometimes it can feel like our thoughts and feelings take over us and it can become overwhelming. I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to go through these moments alone. Whether you are dealing with overwhelming emotions, intrusive thoughts, or you are someone who is tired of following the same patterns I am here to help you put the baggage down and support you as you become the freer version of yourself, I know you can be.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, distinct traumatic events/complex trauma, grief/loss, stress management, boundary setting, life transitions, relationship issues, therapy for therapists, and identity development. I also like to focus on helping clients build emotional regulation skills and understand the effects trauma can have on the nervous system.

One of my passions is working with women of color and first-generation child of immigrants dealing with the impacts of intersectionality, marginalization, immigration, acculturation, and generational/historical trauma.

I also love working with couples helping them work on their communication, rebuild connection, and reducing reactivity. I do this by using Imago Relationship Therapy which gives couples the knowledge, and the tools to help each other get to the root of their issues and as a result turn relationships with high levels of conflict and disconnection into one where healing and growth can happen.

I am a bilingual Spanish speaking therapist. My therapeutic style is integrative, relational, and psychodynamic. This means I use a variety of approaches to find what best fits your needs, by focusing on getting to know you. I incorporate mindfulness, trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), solution-focused, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and strengths perspectives. I strive to create a safe and trusting therapeutic environment, and while utilizing active listening I will lead my work according to your needs. I consider you the expert in your own life and look forward to getting to know you and working collaboratively with you to create goals that best support your healing.

I currently see clients who are residents across the state of Illinois over video (telehealth). I'm “in-network” with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Blue Choice PPO.
