About Me & My Practice
My name is Amanda Timonere, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional, and Qualified Supervisor in Florida. With over a decade of experience, I’ve had the privilege of helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s most difficult moments while moving toward healing, growth, and empowerment.
As a proud Puerto Rican and Latina therapist, I understand how important it is to feel seen and respected—not only as an individual but also within the context of culture, family, and community. My cultural roots are central to who I am and how I practice. Therapy is often most effective when our identities and lived experiences are acknowledged, and I strive to create a space that is affirming, compassionate, and culturally responsive.
My Approach
I view therapy as a partnership. You bring your story, strengths, and challenges, while I bring clinical expertise and tools. Together, we uncover patterns, process emotions, and move toward lasting change. My approach is warm, authentic, and non-judgmental. I practice from a trauma-informed and client-centered perspective, honoring your pace and prioritizing safety and trust. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you—it’s about supporting you in reclaiming your voice, resilience, and worth.
Who I Work With
I work with a wide range of clients, including adults, couples, adolescents, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I am deeply committed to providing a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ clients, where identities are celebrated and self-expression is honored. I recognize the unique challenges that can come with navigating identity, relationships, and community, and I provide culturally competent, affirming, and empowering support every step of the way.
Areas of focus include:
As a Latina therapist, I am especially passionate about addressing the unique challenges our communities face—such as intergenerational expectations, cultural identity, and systemic barriers—while also celebrating the resilience and strength found in our roots.
Supervision & Mentorship
Alongside my clinical practice, I am a Qualified Supervisor for registered interns in Florida. I find great joy in mentoring new clinicians as they grow into confident, ethical, and compassionate professionals. Supervision is more than checking boxes—it’s about helping emerging therapists find their voice, sharpen their skills, and develop the confidence to lead with integrity and empathy.
Accessibility & Convenience
I recognize that life is busy and seeking therapy can feel overwhelming. To make care more accessible, I offer flexible scheduling and telehealth options. Whether you are navigating a crisis, facing ongoing struggles, or simply seeking a space to reflect and grow, therapy can be a grounding and transformative part of your life.
My Philosophy
A guiding quote for me is: “You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” Many of us move through life carrying shame, doubt, or unspoken burdens. Therapy is a chance to let go of those weights and learn self-compassion. Healing is not about perfection—it’s about progress, authenticity, and alignment with your true self.
Closing
If you are reading this, you’ve already taken a courageous step toward change. My commitment is to provide a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported. Whether you are seeking help for anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity concerns, LGBTQ+ affirming support, or life transitions, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
You deserve healing. You deserve support. And you deserve to live fully as yourself.
