Hi, I’m Amanda, a Mental Health Counselor in New York and a Dominican-Latinx therapist. I believe therapy should be a space where you can be yourself, talk openly, and feel understood without judgment.
Maybe you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck. Maybe you’re struggling with your confidence, relationships, family dynamics, or figuring out what you want for your life. You may be going through a major transition like starting college, navigating adulthood, changing relationships, becoming a parent, or simply trying to understand yourself better. Whatever brings you to therapy, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
As a Dominican therapist, I understand that our culture, family, relationships, and the expectations we grow up with can influence how we see ourselves and the choices we make. Sometimes, you may feel caught between what you want for yourself and what you feel others expect from you. Therapy can give you a space to explore those experiences and figure out what feels right for you.
I specialize in women’s mental health and work with women, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, family concerns, stress, identity, and life transitions. I also have a special interest in supporting clients through pregnancy, postpartum, fertility, and the many emotional changes that can come with these experiences.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I’m not here to tell you how you should feel or give you a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, we’ll work together to better understand what you’re experiencing, identify what you need, and build tools that actually fit your life. We may talk through your thoughts and patterns, work on boundaries, strengthen your communication, or simply create space for you to process what you’ve been carrying.
Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable being honest and showing up as you are. You deserve a space where you feel heard, supported, and understood.
If you’re ready to take that first step, I’d be happy to support you along the way.
