About Alvely Alcántara, LCSW

Hola & thank you for being here! I want to acknowledge that looking for help can be hard as it can be the first step of a healing process. I work with individuals experiencing various stressors/emotional/psychological responses to their life experiences & are interested in beginning the process of self-discovery. I have seven years of experience providing mental health therapy to the Latinx/Hispanic community, specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and trauma. As a therapist, my intention is for individuals to begin their healing process while cultivating self-compassion and self-awareness. The reality is that we all experience painful experiences that can deeply influence our lives and it is important to find a therapist that can help you explore all of this in a judgment-free space. In my years as a therapist, I have observed that individuals hold the answers they’re seeking for within them and can discover them by having a compassionate therapist providing guidance and support. I utilize a strength based, skill building approach with some humor mixed in. The best part of what I do is being able to witness your growth and self-discovery as you begin to experience those moments of healing. I know that each person is unique and I enjoy collaborating with individuals to find what therapy approaches work best for them. I am also the co-host of a podcast, Therapy Talks Con Las Primas, for Latinx/Hispanic listeners in which topics are discussed to deconstruct the stigma of mental and emotional wellness.
