About Alison Gomez, MS, LMFT

Getting out of bed in the morning is so hard to do when the weight of defectiveness is sitting on your chest. You drag your body onto campus to begin the cycle of emptiness: grading papers, attending meetings, and being dismissed by your colleagues. You know the drill: you share your ideas only to be met with condescension or the idea stolen by Kristen. As much as Kristen makes you want to scream, you want to be accepted by her. You bring up the newest episode of Handmaid’s Tale to Kristen and company only for the conversation to come screeching to a halt with you trying to save it with awkward turtle hands; it never helps. In fact, interacting with her involves subtle threats and the ever so slight but powerful jabs that shakes your confidence. It’s taxing having to do the mental gymnastics of saying things just the right way so you can stay on her good side. You’ve done therapy before to feel more confident or whole, however, you left sessions yearning for more. You’ve read Brene Brown, online articles, and watched TikToks from fellow people pleasers; you’ve learned so much but it doesn’t make it easier to exist. You’re ready for therapy with someone who doesn’t hide behind worksheets. I’m Alison –  quirky, passionate, a bit of a dork – and I’m a therapist. We will be curious about what it’s like to be you and challenge the shit your internal bully feeds you. There are a lot of fucked up things in the world that makes it truly hard to trust or open up to others. You’re scared of the risk of trying a new therapist again, yet, toughing it out on your own isn’t making a difference. In fact, you’re finding yourself creeping deeper into the hole of hopelessness. If you’re ready to be in a space where you do not have to exhaustingly mold yourself to fit something that feels tight and wrong, click on my website to schedule your consultation.
