I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) and bicultural (Mexican-born) licensed clinical social worker in the state of California. I have worked with children and families in school, clinic, and community mental health settings, and am especially passionate about working with BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and LGBTQ+ individuals. My current focus is on working with adults who have experienced trauma, as well as those dealing with interpersonal conflict, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, acculturation challenges, and adjustment to life changes.
While I believe that every person is unique, I also believe in the power of evidence-based approaches. I primarily work with CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and trauma-focused CBT methods, along with other eclectic interventions that help clients to learn new coping strategies, improve their communication skills, and develop more balanced perspectives.
I believe that people are inevitably impacted and shaped by their environments and life experiences. It is my goal to support you with learning about yourself, responding to your emotions and needs, and addressing beliefs and behaviors that are no longer serving you to create a more balanced and healthy approach to the natural, but difficult demands of life.
