Lupita Martínez, LMFT is a bilingual and Chicana Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist raised in South Bay LA. Growing up, she moved around a lot thus had the privilege in living in culturally rich cities like Lennox, Gardena, Inglewood, and Hawthorne.
She has always held a genuine interest in Latinx mental health particularly because of where she grew up. It became very apparent to her in childhood & adolescence that there were large mental health disparities in the communities she grew up in which further fueled her interest in mental health. Additionally, it has not come unnoticed that her community and immediate family experienced mental health stigma that created barriers to being open to support. In response to her immediate surroundings, Lupita has grown passionate about providing mental support to communities of color and sharing information to help reduce the mental health stigma by work directly with the organizations that are working to reduce mental health disparities in communities of color.
She has experience creating and facilitating interactive workshops on Impostor Phenomenon for BIPOC folks, First Gen Experiences, Stress Management to Avoid Burnout, and the Double Impact of the Latinx Experience. She is able to facilitate these workshops in both English and Spanish.
