About Joshua M. Sanchez, LCSW

Joshua M. Sanchez, LCSW, is a licensed mental health clinician in private practice, specializing in process-based and behavioral science treatments for adults and older adolescents dealing with anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and OCD-related disorders, depressive and bipolar disorders, as well as trauma.

Joshua’s expertise comprises several clinical training programs, including a post-graduate fellowship at The Reeds Center – Treatment of Anxiety, OCD, and Related Disorders, where he gained clinical experience and supervision delivering exposure and response prevention (ERP), habit reversal therapy (HRT), trauma-informed treatments such as STAIR-NT and CPT, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Additionally, he studied and trained with Dr. Katherine Shear at The Center for Prolonged Grief at Columbia University, Dr. Matthieu Villatte, Research Scientist and Clinical Trainer of the Evidence-Based Practice Institute of Seattle, the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI), and the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (WCSPP).

In addition to his clinical practice, his research interest focuses on evaluating the effectiveness and outcomes of process-based and behavioral science treatments for anxiety and mood disorders, examining their long-term impacts on quality of life and psychological flexibility. Joshua has contributed book reviews to Health & Social Work, The New Social Worker, and Psychoanalytic Social Work. He earned an M.S. in Advanced Clinical Social Work Practice, focusing on Health, Mental Health, and Disabilities, from Columbia University, and a B.A. in Theatre from Franklin & Marshall College. Joshua maintains professional memberships with the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS).
