Dr. Jeanette Torruella, PhD, LPC, ACS
What happens when we step, even briefly, into someone else’s way of seeing the world? For Dr. Jeanette Torruella, that question is at the heart of the work.
Dr. Jeanette is a licensed professional counselor, approved clinical supervisor, educator, researcher, and creative practitioner whose work sits at the intersection of mental health, education, creativity, and human connection. Over more than 20 years in schools, universities, clinical settings, and community spaces, she has supported adolescents, adults, families, educators, and fellow helping professionals.
Her doctoral research explored creativity as a predictor of empathy and cultural humility in counselors. That inquiry reflects a theme that continues to run through her work: creativity is more than artistic expression. It can open pathways to perspective-taking, restoration, and deeper human connection.
Audiences don’t just listen to Dr. Jeanette; they take part. Drawing on clinical practice, mindfulness, somatic and experiential approaches, and the expressive arts, her sessions invite participants to move, reflect, create, and engage with one another. They leave with more than new information. They leave having practiced seeing themselves and others differently.

She is also the host of the Wise Women’s Pride podcast.
Bringing together clinical expertise, scholarship, lived experience, and an artist’s sensibility, Dr. Jeanette creates spaces where people can become more curious, more connected, and more open to new ways of seeing themselves and one another.
