About Daniel Lozoya, LCSW

Daniel Lozoya, LCSW, is the Founder of Link to Hope Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. He is a bilingual Spanish/English Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas and an EMDR-trained clinician with nearly 12 years of experience working in mental health settings. Daniel provides trauma-informed therapy for adolescents and adults, serving clients ages 13 to 64 who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, relationship stress, identity-related concerns, life transitions, and patterns that leave them feeling stuck or disconnected.

Daniel created Link to Hope Counseling & Consulting, PLLC with the intention of offering a compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed space for clients who are seeking more than surface-level coping. Many of the clients Daniel works with appear “high functioning” on the outside, while internally feeling overwhelmed, hypervigilant, emotionally exhausted, shut down, or like they are moving through life on autopilot. Some clients have tried therapy before, read self-help books, practiced coping skills, or worked hard to feel better, yet still feel like something deeper continues to affect their emotions, relationships, body, or sense of safety.

Daniel’s clinical approach is warm, collaborative, client-centered, and strengths-based. He believes therapy should be a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. His work is grounded in the belief that healing is not about “fixing” who someone is, but rather understanding how the nervous system, emotions, thoughts, and protective patterns adapted in response to life experiences. Through therapy, clients can begin to build new ways of relating to themselves, others, and the world around them.

Daniel specializes in trauma-focused care, anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, relationship concerns, attachment wounds, substance use concerns, and identity-related stress. He is especially passionate about supporting Spanish-speaking and Latinx clients, LGBTQIA+ clients, immigrants, first-generation clients, first responders, veterans, and individuals who have experienced chronic stress, family pressure, grief, discrimination, or repeated exposure to difficult life experiences. As a bilingual therapist, Daniel understands the importance of language, culture, family, identity, and belonging in the healing process.

Daniel works with adolescents ages 13 and older and adults through age 64. With teens, he supports concerns such as anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, trauma, depression, school stress, identity development, family communication, and difficulty managing intense emotions. With adults, Daniel supports clients who may be carrying trauma, burnout, hypervigilance, relationship wounds, shame, anxiety, grief, or the emotional weight of always having to be strong.

Daniel integrates several evidence-informed and trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, C-DBT skills, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, motivational interviewing, SBIRT, behavioral activation, acceptance and commitment therapy, attachment-informed care, and IFS-informed approaches. He also has training in nervous system regulation approaches, including the Safe and Sound Protocol and Rest and Restore Protocol. When clinically appropriate and in collaboration with qualified medical providers, Daniel also supports work related to psychedelic-assisted therapy and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.

As an EMDR-trained clinician, Daniel uses EMDR therapy to help clients process distressing memories, trauma responses, triggers, and experiences that may still feel active in the present. EMDR may be helpful for clients who understand what happened logically but continue to feel the impact emotionally or physically. Daniel also incorporates practical tools from CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, communication, boundaries, motivation, and daily functioning.

Therapy with Daniel is collaborative and individualized. Some clients need structure, skills, and practical strategies. Others need space to process trauma, grief, shame, relational wounds, or identity-related stress. Many clients need both. Daniel works with each client to explore what feels most supportive for their goals, values, nervous system, and current season of life.

Reaching out for therapy does not mean you have to commit right away. A consultation is simply an opportunity to ask questions, share what you are looking for, and see whether working together feels like a good fit. Daniel welcomes private pay clients and accepts a limited number of insurance clients depending on availability, plan eligibility, and clinical fit.
