About Luz Trauma Therapy

You’ve always been the strong one. The responsible daughter, the emotional support friend, the overachiever at work. On the outside it looks like you have it all together. But inside you may feel anxious, tired, and like you’re carrying the weight of everyone’s expectations. And still, it never feels like enough.

Maybe you learned how to take care of others before you ever knew how to take care of yourself. You became the “good girl,” the one who keeps the peace, gets things done, and doesn’t ask for much. A woman who is both deeply caring and deeply burnt out.

At Luz Trauma Therapy we hold space for people like you who are ready to stop performing and start living in alignment with their truth. Our work begins by helping you untangle from old roles, heal the roots of your overwhelm, and reconnect with your voice, your body, and your power.

We are a team of therapists committed to creating a space where you don’t have to hold it all alone. Stephanie Sorady, LCSW, is a first-gen, eldest daughter who knows the invisible weight of responsibility firsthand. She works with ambitious, soulful women and folks navigating trauma, identity, and relational wounds.

Joining her is Brenda Alvarez, M.S., AMFT, a bilingual Mexican immigrant passionate about collective healing and anti-oppressive practices. Brenda brings a holistic lens that honors culture, roots, and community while helping clients feel safe, seen, and supported in their growth.

Sessions are offered virtually in English and Spanish so you can connect from wherever you feel most comfortable.

✨ Did you know you can get reimbursed for therapy sessions?

During our consultation call, we’ll check if your insurance offers out-of-network benefits. If so, I submit claims for you—no extra paperwork required. Please have your Member ID ready during the call! Many of my clients receive 60–80% of their session fee reimbursed.
