Cultural Identities

About Monica A. Garfias, MA, LPC, NCC

¡Hola! I’m a bilingual licensed therapist with experience providing care since 2010. As a first-generation daughter of Mexican immigrants, I am dedicated to helping teens and adults move from surviving to thriving.

Life has a way of throwing heavy moments our way. Whether you are navigating past trauma, chronic anxiety, depression, an overwhelming season of life, or the unique, complex demands of caregiving for a special needs loved one, it is easy to get caught in an exhausting cycle—waiting for the next shoe to drop, struggling to focus, or feeling like you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.

As a special needs caregiver and someone with deep roots in the immigrant experience, I truly understand the invisible pressures, generational dynamics, and emotional complexities of navigating these paths. You don’t have to carry it all alone, and you don’t have to stay stuck.

How We Work Together Therapy here is a collaborative team effort in a culturally affirming, bilingual space (English & Spanish). I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I tailor our work to your unique needs using evidence-based tools, with specialized certification and advanced training in trauma-informed care. Whether you are looking to process deep-seated experiences, manage daily stress, or find your footing amidst burnout, this space is 100% judgment-free.

What to Expect

  • A Safe Landing: A confidential, understanding space to finally unload what you’ve been holding inside.

  • Practical Tools: Actionable strategies to help you regulate your mood, quiet the worry, and regain a sense of control.

  • Lasting Growth: Moving past just “coping” so you can find genuine hope, healing, and peace.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to start therapy, consider this it. Let’s work together to help you write your next chapter.

¡Bienvenid@s!
