Cultural Identities

About Reyna Diaz, LCSW

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from the person you want to be?

You may be carrying the weight of family expectations, cultural responsibilities, or past trauma while trying to hold everything together. On the outside, your life may look “fine” but internally, you feel anxious, exhausted, or unfulfilled. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

I provide culturally responsive therapy for Latina, immigrant, and first-generation women across California (telehealth) who are ready to better understand themselves, heal, and create meaningful change.

I work with women who feel:

  • Overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or burned out
  • Stuck in cycles of anxiety, depression, or self-doubt
  • Pressured to meet high expectations at work, in family, or culturally
  • Disconnected from themselves, their needs, or their relationships

Many of my clients are used to being “the strong one”, pushing through, minimizing their needs, and showing up for everyone else.

As an immigrant from Central America, I understand firsthand the cultural pressures, generational expectations, and identity challenges that shape our emotional lives. I specialize in working with Latina, BIPOC, and first-generation women navigating:

  • Intergenerational trauma
  • Immigration and acculturation stress
  • Identity and belonging
  • The emotional impact of systemic and cultural expectations

I also understand how difficult it can be to seek therapy when it hasn’t always been encouraged or accessible. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, respected, and understood.

My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all, we’ll work in a way that aligns with your values, identity, and goals.

Clients often describe me as warm, direct, and empowering. I balance deep emotional work with practical tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected in your daily life.

I specialize in:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Relationship and attachment challenges
  • Burnout, perfectionism, and imposter syndrome (especially in high-achieving women)
  • First-generation identity and intergenerational trauma
  • Immigration-related stress and cultural adjustment
  • Grief, loss, and major life transitions
  • Perimenopause and menopause-related emotional changes
  • The emotional impact of racism and systemic oppression

I offer online therapy across California, making support accessible wherever you are.

If something here resonates, trust that instinct. You deserve more than just getting by.
