Deniss Pleiner, MA: Inner Child Therapist

Cultural Identities

About Deniss Pleiner, MA: Inner Child Therapist

I work with immigrants & children of immigrants who are often told they are “too sensitive” or “too emotional”– folks who are used to taking care of their siblings and parents but often feel lonely and isolated from their family. I support you in finding balance and finding peace in your relationships through reflection, boundaries, and and tangible tools.

My goal is empowering you with skills to establish healthy boundaries without guilt. We’ll explore how to maintain family connections while prioritizing your wellbeing through reflection and self-care practices. I draw from various types of therapies: family systems, CBT, somatic processing, etc. to tailor our work to your goals and abilities. Body based interventions will help you feel more at easy and safer in your own body. CBT interventions help us identify unhelpful thoughts you may have and change the way you talk to yourself. Most of my clients work with me for about a year as we dive deep into childhood experiences and take time to build solid tools to create & maintain your inner peace.
