Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you are used to handling things on your own. Maybe you’ve been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand. You may find yourself overthinking, being hard on yourself, struggling to set boundaries, or carrying difficult experiences from your past that continue to affect how you feel today.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We can start with where you are.
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, stress, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem concerns, identity, relationship challenges, and significant life transitions. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and provide therapy in either language.
My goal is to create a space where you can talk openly about what you are experiencing without feeling judged or pressured. Therapy with me is collaborative. We will work together to understand what may be contributing to the way you feel, recognize patterns that are affecting your well-being, and identify changes that feel realistic and meaningful for you.
You may be someone who looks like you are managing everything on the outside but feels overwhelmed internally. Maybe your mind rarely slows down. You may question yourself, struggle with confidence, feel responsible for everyone around you, or have difficulty prioritizing your own needs. You might notice yourself repeating patterns in relationships, avoiding difficult emotions, or responding to situations in ways you later wish you could change.
Therapy can give you space to understand those experiences rather than simply pushing through them.
I especially enjoy helping people develop a deeper understanding of themselves. Sometimes the ways we cope, respond to stress, or interact in relationships developed for very understandable reasons. Those patterns may have helped you get through difficult experiences at one point in your life, even if they are no longer working for you now. Together, we can explore where those patterns come from, how they are affecting you today, and what you would like to do differently moving forward.
Our work may focus on learning how to manage anxiety and difficult emotions, strengthening coping skills, developing healthier boundaries, improving self-esteem, reducing self-criticism, processing difficult experiences, or building a stronger sense of who you are. Therapy can also be a place to explore how your relationships, family experiences, culture, identity, and past experiences have shaped the way you see yourself and relate to others.
My approach is warm, compassionate, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based. I believe you should be able to bring your full self into therapy. Your culture, values, relationships, experiences, and identity are all meaningful parts of your story, and they deserve to be understood within the context of your life.
As a bilingual clinician, I also recognize that language can be deeply connected to culture, family, identity, and emotion. For clients who prefer therapy in Spanish, sessions can be provided fully in Spanish. For bilingual clients, there is also room to communicate in the language that feels most natural in the moment.
Depending on your needs, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, and Strengths-Based Therapy. This may include exploring connections between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, challenging patterns that contribute to distress, developing greater self-compassion, identifying your strengths, and learning practical strategies for navigating difficult emotions and situations.
I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health & Wellness at New York University. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Psychology from CUNY City College and am a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee (CASAC-T). I provide therapy with Love Light Mental Health Counseling Services, PLLC under clinical supervision.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy nature, plants, creative spaces, hiking, walking, and music. I value opportunities to slow down, reflect, recharge, and connect with the world around me.
You deserve a therapeutic space where you can feel heard while also doing meaningful work toward the changes you want to see in your life. If you are looking for support with understanding yourself more deeply, navigating difficult emotions, breaking patterns that no longer serve you, or developing a more compassionate relationship with yourself, I would be honored to support you along the way.
