Cultural Identities

About Diana Rojas Luna, LCSW

Hi, I’m Diana Rojas Luna, LCSW, founder of Luna Care Counseling Services. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing trauma-informed and culturally responsive psychotherapy for adults in New York, Connecticut, and Illinois. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish, creating a space where you can feel heard, understood, and respected while working through the concerns that brought you to therapy.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, past abuse, emotional overwhelm, difficult past experiences, and patterns that may continue to affect how they feel, think, or relate to themselves and others. I have a special focus on supporting women, including women in midlife, Latina women, and first-generation women who may be navigating cultural identity, family expectations, relationships, life transitions, and the experience of balancing different cultural worlds.

As someone who understands the experience of living between cultures, I recognize that our cultural background can shape how we understand ourselves, our relationships, our responsibilities, and even what we believe we are “supposed” to be. Therapy can provide a space to explore these experiences without having to explain or minimize the cultural context behind them.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I do not believe therapy should follow a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, I work with each person to understand their experiences, strengths, goals, and readiness for change. My work integrates evidence-based approaches including EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, Brainspotting, and mindfulness, within a trauma-informed, person-centered, culturally responsive, and strengths-based framework.

I am EMDR-trained and incorporate EMDR into therapy when clinically appropriate. EMDR can be particularly helpful when past experiences continue to feel emotionally present or influence current reactions, relationships, beliefs about oneself, or sense of safety. We will always consider whether EMDR is appropriate for your individual needs rather than assuming that one approach is right for everyone.

For clients who prefer to communicate in Spanish, I offer psychotherapy in Spanish so that you can express yourself in the language that feels most natural to you. Language can be an important part of feeling understood, particularly when discussing personal, family, cultural, or emotionally difficult experiences. My goal is to provide a space where you can speak openly about your life and your experiences without judgment.

Luna Care Counseling Services provides virtual therapy throughout New York, Connecticut, and Illinois. I also offer in-person appointments in White Plains, New York, including EMDR therapy. Services are provided on a self-pay basis, with limited reduced-fee availability when offered.

Beginning therapy can feel like a significant step, especially if you have spent a long time managing things on your own. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Therapy can be a place to slow down, understand what you have been carrying, develop greater awareness of your patterns and needs, and begin making changes at a pace that feels manageable.

Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, trauma, past abuse, difficult life experiences, relationship patterns, or simply a desire to feel more connected to yourself, I welcome you to explore whether we may be a good fit. My goal is to offer thoughtful, compassionate, and culturally responsive care while supporting you in moving toward meaningful and lasting change.
