I’m a bilingual doctoral student in Counseling Psychology, born and raised in northwest Georgia within a close-knit Latine & Mexican immigrant community. Growing up, I saw firsthand how deeply our wellbeing can be shaped by culture, family, community, and the larger systems around us. I also learned that even in the midst of hardship, there can be profound love, faith, resilience, mutual care, and connection. These experiences continue to shape who I am and what drew me to the field of psychology.
I’m passionate about creating spaces where people whose voices and experiences have historically been marginalized or overlooked can feel seen, heard, and valued. My path into psychology was shaped in part by witnessing the barriers many communities face in accessing bilingual, culturally responsive mental health care. Those experiences inspired my commitment to helping make therapy more accessible and affirming, while supporting people in their own journeys toward healing, growth, and self-determination.
At the heart of my worldview is In Lak’ech, a Mayan teaching often translated as “you are my other me.” It reflects a belief I hold deeply: that we are interconnected and that our individual and collective wellbeing are inseparable. I bring this spirit of connection, curiosity, and humility into my work with clients.
Above all, I see myself as a lifelong learner. I continue to be inspired by the ways people, families, and communities care for one another, cultivate hope, and create new possibilities—even in the face of difficult circumstances. It is a privilege to be invited into someone’s story, and I approach that responsibility with warmth, respect, and genuine curiosity.
I am an advanced counseling intern at the Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy and work under the clinical supervision of Dr. Sophia Aguirre, Ph.D., CGP
