Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Stacy Yamilet Serrano, and I believe that healing begins when we feel safe enough to be seen, heard, and understood. Seeking therapy can be one of the most vulnerable decisions you’ll make, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they navigate life’s challenges and discover their own resilience.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing telehealth therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout California. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, ADHD, depression, grief, behavioral concerns, life transitions, stress, and challenges related to identity, self-esteem, and emotional well-being. I also provide comprehensive immigration evaluations for humanitarian immigration cases.
As a bilingual therapist who speaks both English and Spanish, I strive to create an inclusive, culturally responsive environment where clients feel comfortable showing up as their authentic selves. I understand that culture, family dynamics, and lived experiences shape how we experience the world and influence our mental health. Whether you’re navigating the pressures of being a first-generation student or professional, parenting through difficult seasons, supporting a child with emotional or behavioral challenges, or working to heal from past experiences, therapy offers a space to pause, process, and move forward with greater confidence.
The name Desde La RaÃz Therapy means “From the Root.” It reflects my belief that lasting healing happens when we explore the underlying causes of emotional distress rather than only addressing the symptoms. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may no longer serve you, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools that support long-term healing and growth.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based. Every client brings a unique story, so I tailor treatment to meet your individual needs and goals. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based practices, play-based interventions for younger clients, and trauma-informed care to help clients develop healthy coping skills, regulate emotions, improve communication, and build resilience.
When working with children and adolescents, I strive to create a safe, engaging environment where they can express themselves in developmentally appropriate ways. I partner closely with parents and caregivers, recognizing that meaningful progress often happens when the entire family feels supported. My goal is to help children strengthen emotional regulation, improve communication, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills that carry into home, school, and relationships.
For adults, therapy provides an opportunity to slow down, gain insight into recurring patterns, and reconnect with what matters most. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, burnout, trauma, grief, or major life transitions, we’ll work together to help you better understand your experiences, build practical coping strategies, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
For families, I focus on strengthening communication, increasing understanding, and helping family members navigate conflict with greater empathy and connection. Together, we work toward creating healthier family dynamics that support growth, trust, and emotional well-being.
For clients seeking immigration evaluations, I provide thorough, trauma-informed assessments in a respectful and supportive environment. I understand how personal these stories can be and approach every evaluation with sensitivity, professionalism, and cultural humility.
Above all, I believe therapy is not about “fixing” you—because you are not broken. It’s about helping you reconnect with your strengths, understand your experiences, and build the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and self-compassion. My hope is that every client leaves therapy feeling empowered, supported, and equipped to create meaningful, lasting change.
Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to face it alone. Healing is possible, and I’d be honored to support you every step of the way.
