Hi, I’m Cristina! I’m a Latina therapist and the human behind The Real Collective. I created my practice because I wanted therapy to feel less clinical and intimidating and more like a space where you can actually be yourself: messy feelings, complicated family dynamics, dark humor, and all.
As a Latina, I know how deeply culture and family can shape who we become. Maybe you grew up learning to be the strong one, the responsible one, the peacekeeper, or the one who makes everyone proud. Maybe saying no comes with guilt, putting yourself first feels selfish, or you’re trying to figure out where your family’s expectations end and you begin. Sometimes we love our families deeply while also realizing there are patterns we don’t want to keep carrying. Both can be true.
That’s the kind of stuff I love getting into in therapy.
I especially enjoy working with women who are navigating anxiety, relationships, people-pleasing, self-worth, identity, life transitions, family dynamics, and that exhausting feeling of always needing to have it together. I’m interested in the patterns underneath it all – where they came from, how they once protected you, and whether they still fit the person you’re becoming.
I’m not a blank-slate, sit-back-and-nod therapist. I’m warm, expressive, curious, and very human. I’ll laugh with you, sit with you in the hard stuff, celebrate the wins, and gently call you out when you need it. Therapy with me is collaborative, relational, and sometimes feels a little more like grabbing coffee with someone who really gets you.
You don’t have to choose between honoring where you come from and becoming who you want to be. There’s room for both here.
