Cultural Identities

About Baleska Alfaro, LMFT, terapeuta bilingue y bicultural

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. I believe therapy is not about “fixing” who you are, but about developing a deeper understanding of yourself, strengthening your coping skills, and creating a life that aligns with your values.

I specialize in working with teens, young adults, couples, and families experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, life transitions, emotion regulation difficulties, and parent-child conflict. My approach is evidence-based and tailored to each individual’s unique needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and family systems principles. Together, we work to identify unhelpful thought patterns, build emotional awareness, improve communication, and develop practical skills that support long-term well-being.

As a bilingual Latina therapist, I understand the importance of providing culturally responsive care. I recognize that our identities, family dynamics, cultural values, and lived experiences shape the way we navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re balancing family expectations, healing from difficult experiences, navigating identity, or learning healthier ways to cope, I strive to meet you with curiosity, compassion, and respect.

I believe healing happens through connection, and my goal is to help clients feel safe enough to explore difficult emotions while recognizing their strengths and resilience. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I am honored to walk alongside my clients as they work toward greater self-understanding, healthier relationships, and lasting change.
