Hi, I’m Tiffany Flint-Ovando, an Associate Clinical Social Worker and Associate Therapist at Brightful Therapy. I bring nearly 10 years of experience in the mental health field, and throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, foster youth, adults, and families through some of life’s most difficult and meaningful moments.
I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up as you are—without feeling judged, rushed, or pressured to have everything figured out. Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you are used to handling things on your own, being the strong one for others, or coming from a family or culture where mental health was not openly discussed. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make changes at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach is client-centered, strengths-based, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. This means I do not see you as a diagnosis, a problem to be fixed, or a list of symptoms. I see you as a whole person with a unique story, lived experiences, relationships, cultural influences, strengths, challenges, and hopes for the future. Together, we can explore what is bringing you to therapy, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build practical strategies that support meaningful change in your everyday life.
With nearly a decade of experience in the mental health field, I have developed a deep appreciation for the resilience people carry—even when they may not recognize that resilience within themselves. Before and throughout my work as a therapist, I gained valuable experience as a Therapeutic Behavioral Coach, providing direct support to clients and families navigating emotional, behavioral, relational, and life challenges. This background continues to shape the way I practice today. I understand that healing does not happen only through talking about problems. Sometimes clients also need practical tools, encouragement, structure, new ways of communicating, and support identifying what is already working.
I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, foster youth, and families. This work has strengthened my understanding of how early experiences, trauma, family relationships, transitions, instability, and environmental stressors can influence emotional well-being and behavior. I understand that what may look like anger, withdrawal, defiance, anxiety, or “acting out” can sometimes be a person’s way of communicating distress, protecting themselves, or coping with experiences they may not yet have the words to explain.
I also recognize that supporting a child or teenager often means understanding the larger family system. Parents and caregivers may feel overwhelmed, worried, frustrated, guilty, or unsure of what to do next. You may be trying your best while wondering whether you are saying the right thing, setting the right boundaries, or truly understanding what your child needs. My approach is not about blaming parents or labeling children. Instead, I work from a compassionate, trauma-informed perspective that considers strengths, relationships, communication patterns, developmental needs, and the realities families face.
I specialize in solution-focused therapy, an approach that helps clients identify strengths, recognize possibilities, build on what is already working, and take meaningful steps toward their goals. While your past and your experiences matter, therapy does not always have to focus exclusively on everything that has gone wrong. I also want to help you notice your abilities, resilience, values, resources, and capacity for growth.
Sometimes, when people have been struggling for a long time, it becomes difficult to see their own strengths. You may know what you do not want, but feel unsure about what you do want. You may feel stuck in the same patterns, overwhelmed by stress, disconnected from yourself, or uncertain about your next step. My role is to work alongside you as we uncover possibilities, identify realistic goals, and help you move toward the version of yourself and your life that feels more aligned with who you want to be.
My therapeutic style is warm, encouraging, practical, and collaborative. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I bring clinical knowledge, curiosity, compassion, and therapeutic tools to help support your journey. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Every client is different, and our work together should reflect your individual needs, personality, experiences, culture, and goals.
I especially value working with clients who may be navigating anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, low self-esteem, family conflict, difficult transitions, trauma-related experiences, relationship challenges, behavioral concerns, or simply the feeling that something in life needs to change. You may be seeking therapy because you are going through a difficult season, because old patterns keep showing up, or because you are ready to better understand yourself and build a healthier future.
For Latinx clients and families, I understand that seeking mental health support can sometimes come with additional layers. Cultural values, family expectations, generational differences, stigma around therapy, loyalty to family, and pressure to keep personal struggles private can all influence whether someone feels comfortable asking for help. You may have been encouraged to stay strong, keep moving forward, or avoid discussing what happens within the family. You may care deeply about your loved ones while also recognizing that certain patterns are affecting your emotional well-being.
Therapy can be a space to explore these experiences with compassion and without judgment. You do not have to reject your family, your culture, or your identity in order to grow. You can honor where you come from while also creating new patterns, strengthening boundaries, improving communication, and discovering what emotional wellness looks like for you.
At Brightful Therapy, I am committed to providing a welcoming and affirming environment where clients can explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, and work toward meaningful goals. Whether you are a young person trying to understand difficult emotions, an adult navigating stress or life transitions, someone impacted by trauma, or a family seeking healthier ways to connect, I want therapy to feel like a partnership.
One of the most meaningful parts of my work is helping clients reconnect with strengths they may have forgotten or overlooked. You may already carry courage, creativity, determination, compassion, adaptability, or resilience—but difficult experiences can make those qualities harder to see. Together, we can work to identify those strengths and use them as part of your healing and growth.
You do not need to have the perfect words before starting therapy. You do not need to know exactly what your goals are. You simply need a place to begin.
If you are looking for a trauma-informed therapist, solution-focused therapist, therapist for anxiety and stress, therapist for adolescents, support for foster youth and families, or compassionate online therapy, I would be honored to connect with you. My goal is to help clients harness their strengths, uncover their best selves, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.
If you are ready to begin your journey, I invite you to reach out through Brightful Therapy’s website to learn more or schedule a free 15-minute consultation. You can also visit the Brightful Therapy online booking page to take the next step.
Sometimes the hardest part is simply getting started. You do not have to know exactly where the journey will lead—you just need a supportive place to begin.
