As women raised in Latinx cultures, we are often passed down a legacy of incredible strength. We see our mothers, grandmothers, and tias sacrifice everything for their families, and we learn early on that love is measured by how much we can endure. There is a beautiful power in that resilience. But there is also a quiet trap: the belief that your worth is tied to your productivity, and that taking care of yourself is selfish or lazy.
In my practice, we don’t ignore your culture, we honor it, while gently untangling the pieces that are no longer serving you. I don’t believe in rigid, one-size-fits-all clinical approaches. Instead, we work side-by-side using a blend of practical tools for the present and deeper healing for the past.
Practical Tools for Daily Relief: We will look at your day-to-day life right now and figure out how to lower the volume on your anxiety. We’ll work on setting healthy boundaries with family and work, managing the overwhelm when it hits, and creating actual pocket-sized moments of calm so you can feel clear-headed again.
Deeper, Root-Cause Work: Once we have given your nervous system some room to breathe, we will look at the bigger picture. We’ll explore where that inner critic comes from, unpack generational patterns, and process the underlying stress that keeps you stuck in overdrive. I integrate gentle, deeply effective methods like EMDR and mindfulness to help you heal these patterns at their root.
