About Josslyn Baron, MA, ATR-P

I am so happy you’re here. Seeking help can feel scary, but I am proud of you for taking this step. Therapy can be hard, and facing difficult emotions might feel overwhelming, but I’m here for you every step of the way. Your feelings and thoughts are safe with me. I approach therapy in a non-judgmental manner and provide unconditional support and encouragement. I value strength-based and holistic approaches and am passionate about working through a culturally informed framework that celebrates your intersectionality.
As a child of immigrant parents and descendant of the Indigenous Nahua tribe, I understand the effects of acculturative stress and the mental health impacts of cultural adjustment and colonization. I would love to show you how making art can help you reclaim your roots, and relate to and understand your emotions, even when they are hard to face.
I believe you are the expert of your own life, and my practice is rooted in giving you the power to recognize your strengths. I use art-based interventions that offer alleviation of a variety of symptoms. Art-making provides a safe and easy way to face and understand emotions, especially if exploring emotions has not always felt safe for you.
