Being raised in a Latino household often means carrying multiple roles at once. Showing up for family, staying strong through difficult experiences, navigating expectations, and learning how to keep going even when things feel emotionally overwhelming. For many first-generation individuals, there can be pressure to succeed while also balancing cultural identity, family dynamics, guilt, responsibility, or the feeling of being misunderstood between different worlds.
As a bilingual English and Spanish-speaking First Generation Latina therapist, I understand how culture, family, migration experiences, generational patterns, religion, and survival can shape the way we relate to ourselves and others. Sometimes struggles with anxiety, relationships, self-worth, boundaries, or emotional regulation are connected to experiences that were never openly talked about growing up.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct. I work with teens and adults navigating trauma, life transitions, relationship difficulties, anxiety, family conflict, identity-related stress, and emotional burnout. I aim to create a space where clients can process experiences honestly without feeling judged, rushed, or expected to have everything figured out.
I believe therapy should feel human. That may look like exploring patterns rooted in past experiences, understanding how the nervous system responds to stress, processing cultural and family expectations, or learning how to build healthier relationships while still honoring the parts of yourself that helped you survive.
