About Psychiatrist & Referral Process

Finding the right psychiatric provider can feel overwhelming — especially when you want someone who truly gets you.

I’m Stephanie, an Afro-Latina board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and founder of Nueva Vida Psychiatry in West Los Angeles. I created this practice to be the kind of care I wished existed: unhurried, culturally affirming, and focused on really seeing you — not just your symptoms.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADHD, PMDD, and trauma in adults. Whether you’ve been managing on your own for years, just started noticing something feels off, or have been told “it’s just stress” one too many times — I’m here to help you figure out what’s actually going on and build a plan that fits your real life.

I offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management, and I collaborate closely with therapists and primary care providers for coordinated care. Visits are unhurried and honest, via telehealth or in person beginning June 2026.

I accept Aetna, Cigna, and UHC/Optum, and offer self-pay appointments.

To get started, you can book directly through my website at nuevavidapsychiatry.com or reach out to my office — I’d love to hear from you.
