About Lizbeth Valencia-Lucero, LCSW

You look successful on the outside—but inside, you’re exhausted.

Maybe you’re constantly overthinking, putting pressure on yourself to do more, or feeling guilty whenever you slow down. You’ve learned to be the responsible one, the dependable one, the one everyone else can count on. But underneath it all, you’re anxious, overwhelmed, and wondering why success never feels like enough.

If you’re a first-generation Latinx adult or high-achieving professional carrying the weight of family expectations while trying to build a life that feels true to you, you’re not alone.

I’m Lizbeth Valencia-Lucero, LCSW, a bilingual (English & Español) Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Graceful Journey Counseling. I provide therapy to adults throughout Pennsylvania and New York via telehealth, with limited in-person sessions in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

I specialize in helping first-generation Latinx adults and high-achieving professionals who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, overthinking, people-pleasing, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Together, we’ll work toward helping you feel calmer, more confident, and more connected to yourself—not just successful on the outside.

You may be struggling with:

• Constant overthinking and difficulty quieting your mind

• High-functioning anxiety that others don’t see

• Feeling guilty when you rest or prioritize yourself

• Perfectionism and fear of making mistakes

• Burnout from always being the responsible one

• Difficulty setting boundaries without feeling selfish

• Relationship patterns that leave you feeling anxious or disconnected

• Feeling like you have to earn your worth through achievement

Many of my clients are the first in their family to pursue higher education, build a professional career, or create opportunities their parents never had. While these accomplishments are meaningful, they can also bring intense pressure, cultural expectations, and the feeling that no matter how much you achieve, it never feels like enough.

As a first-generation immigrant myself, I understand how culture, family expectations, identity, and responsibility can shape the way we experience anxiety, relationships, and self-worth. My goal is to provide a space where you don’t have to explain every part of your experience to feel understood.

My approach is warm, collaborative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s “wrong” with you—it’s about understanding why certain patterns developed, recognizing how they’ve helped you survive, and building healthier ways of moving forward that align with the life you want today.

I integrate evidence-based approaches including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Attachment-based therapy
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed interventions
  • Mindfulness
  • Expressive Arts Therapy

Together, we’ll move beyond simply managing symptoms. We’ll explore the roots of your anxiety, perfectionism, and relationship patterns while building practical tools that help you regulate emotions, trust yourself, communicate more confidently, and create lasting change.

Ways We Can Work Together

Weekly Therapy

Weekly therapy provides consistent support as you work through anxiety, burnout, relationship concerns, life transitions, perfectionism, and self-esteem. Together, we’ll build insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, sustainable change over time.

Private Therapy Intensives

For clients who want to make deeper progress in a shorter period, I also offer private therapy intensives. These structured 1- to 3-day sessions provide an immersive therapeutic experience designed to help you move through long-standing patterns with greater focus and momentum. Intensives are ideal for individuals who feel stuck despite previous therapy, have demanding schedules, or are seeking a more concentrated healing experience.

Whether you choose weekly therapy or an intensive, my goal is the same: to help you move from survival mode toward a life that feels calmer, more grounded, and aligned with who you truly are.

You don’t have to keep carrying everything alone.

If you’re ready to stop living under constant pressure and begin building a life rooted in self-trust, balance, and meaningful connection, I’d be honored to support you on your journey. Book here.
