About Lizbeth Valencia-Lucero, LCSW

I’m a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Graceful Journey Counseling, a private practice based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, serving clients throughout the Lehigh Valley as well as Pennsylvania and New York via telehealth. I specialize in working with high-achieving and first-generation Latinx adults who appear successful on the outside but feel internally overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from themselves.

Many of the individuals I work with are used to being “the strong one.” They’ve taken on responsibility early in life, often navigating multiple roles, expectations, and cultural dynamics without much support. They may be the first in their family to pursue higher education or build a professional career, and while that comes with pride, it can also bring pressure, guilt, and a sense of never quite feeling like they’ve done enough. Over time, this can show up as anxiety, overthinking, perfectionism, burnout, or difficulty slowing down and feeling at ease.

My work is deeply informed by both clinical training and lived experience. As someone who understands the complexities of navigating cultural identity, family expectations, and personal growth, I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, understood, and not judged. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you understand the patterns that developed for a reason, and supporting you in reshaping them in a way that aligns with who you are now.

In our work together, I focus on helping you move from constant internal pressure to a more grounded, steady, and self-trusting way of being. This often includes exploring the roots of anxiety and overthinking, understanding how early experiences shaped your current patterns, and building tools that support emotional regulation and clarity in your daily life. Many clients come in feeling stuck in cycles they intellectually understand but can’t seem to change. My role is to help bridge that gap between insight and real, lasting change.

My approach integrates evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and attachment-based work, along with mindfulness and expressive arts therapy. This allows us to go beyond surface-level coping strategies and access deeper emotional processing, especially for clients who find it difficult to fully express their experiences with words alone. I also provide culturally responsive care, recognizing how family, culture, and identity shape emotional experiences and decision-making.

In addition to weekly therapy, I offer private therapy intensives—structured 1 to 3-day sessions designed for clients who are ready to move through patterns more deeply and directly. Intensives are especially helpful for high-achieving individuals who feel stuck despite previous therapy or insight, and who are looking for a more focused, immersive experience to create meaningful change.

At Graceful Journey Counseling, I aim to provide a space that feels both grounded and supportive, where you don’t have to perform, prove, or carry everything alone. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship patterns, or questions around identity and direction, therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and build a life that not only looks successful—but feels aligned and sustainable.

If you’re ready to begin that process, I invite you to reach out.
