About Jennifer Andrade, LMFT

Hola and Welcome!

I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Jen, and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #138920) based in Southern California. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after some time away, I want to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported.

A little about me—I’m a proud Xicana, a deep-thinking introvert, and someone who genuinely enjoys the calm and comfort of home. I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Mount Saint Mary’s University, where I focused on learning how to support individuals through life’s complex emotional experiences. My own life journey has deeply shaped the work I do, and I bring both personal insight and professional training to the healing space we’ll share.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside clients who are navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulty setting boundaries, relationship struggles, and the often painful process of healing from mother wounds. I know how overwhelming these issues can feel, and I want you to know that you don’t have to face them alone.

One of my greatest passions is supporting women of color. I believe in your strength, your resilience, and your capacity for growth. I believe you already have the wisdom within you to help you heal and grow. My role is simply to help you uncover it, nurture it, and learn to trust it.

In our work together, I use a Relational Gestalt approach, which is all about connection—both with yourself and with others. At its core, this approach centers on building a safe, supportive relationship between us. Therapy can be a vulnerable process, and I strive to create a warm, respectful environment where you feel emotionally secure and empowered to explore whatever is coming up for you.

As our therapeutic relationship deepens, we’ll work on increasing your awareness—of your thoughts, your emotions, your body, and the world around you. Understanding the ways these forces interact in your daily life can be incredibly powerful. With this awareness, you can begin to make choices that are more aligned with your values and your sense of self.

I also integrate mindfulness, breathwork, and somatic practices into our sessions. These tools help you reconnect with your body and your present-moment experience, which is essential when you’re working through anxiety, stress, or emotional pain. These practices aren’t about “fixing” you—they’re about helping you tune in, listen closely, and respond with compassion to what you find within.

We’ll also explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Often, the patterns we developed to survive earlier in life may no longer serve us today. By gently bringing these patterns into awareness, we can begin to shift them—creating space for new ways of being that support your growth and healing.

My ultimate goal is to support you in gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. Therapy with me is not about judgment—it’s about curiosity, compassion, and collaboration. I’m here to walk alongside you as you make meaningful changes, heal old wounds, and move forward with clarity and purpose.

I offer sessions virtually throughout California and in person at our Riverside office.

If anything I’ve shared resonates with you, I’d be honored to connect. Starting therapy is a courageous step, and you deserve a space that feels affirming, respectful, and truly supportive.

Let’s take that step together. I look forward to getting to know you.
